3.4 V8, Auto trans, 86,000 miles without a major problem until now. Driving started to loose power, SEL came on for a moment, went off and hasn't returned. Borrowed a SO scanner and revealed codes: P0175, P1000, P1116, P1132, P1137, P1138.

Changed out ECT sensor (coolant was green and clear), no change--however haven't rescanned yet--tomorrow. Engine starts up and idles smoothly, for a couple of minutes then starts to smoke (white) and eventually lays down a thick white smoke screen, there seems to be evidence of a fuel smell to the smoke.

Any ideans as to the possible problem and course of action to take is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

If it's truly white smoke, your're burning coolant, no good.. coolant=white, oil=blue, too much gas=black.. take it to a qualified repair shop and tell them to do a leakdown test to confirm, or not, a blown headgasket(s).
