1998 Ford Taurus Starting the Engine

started the car and let it idle, the car stopped running and will not start. I have checked the fuses, they all look good. all the lights work fine the interior and dash lights all work, but when you turn the key you do not hear anything.. the starter does not even click. what can I do to start the car?

Get the alternator and battery load tested if okay -check the other possibilities:

Could be the starter, starter relay, clutch switch/park and neutral switch and ignition switch assuming the battery and connections are good.
