Why would my battery light come on and I lose power steering in wet weater but only for a few seconds at a time?

Check belt and tensioner The belt that runs your power steering and your alternator (for charging the battery) is slipping when it gets wet. You need to have your serpentine belt and tensionor pulley checked / replaced.
