Noises problem
1996 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 182454 miles

hello i'm charles and my car was shaking and every time i would hit just a tiny pot hole it would make a thump sound i took it to a mechanic and they said i needed a ball joint on drivers side and tierod and tierod ends on the passenger side so i changed the tie rod and tie rod ends and it still shakes at about 55 mph and makes a thump my tires are not ballanced could that cause the shake and what else could cause the thump thanks in advance
