I own a 1995 taurus automatic and it has been giving me problems getting it into certain gears. The car can't even tell that it is park when I try to start it (sometimes). Today was the worst I had a hard time starting it. I had to keep taking it out of park - trying neutral and back and forth until it recognized it was in gear for starting.
Could you tell me what you think this would be? I understand there is a switch under the dashboard, a cable to the transmission and another switch on the side of the transmission.
