Need Help in Timing

I have a '96 Ford Ranger, 2.3L, I need to know what am I suppose to go by to set the timing, the diamond or the groove. Thank you.

Open the hood and look at the emissions label or the vaccum line label on one of those it says either timing not adjustable or timing adjustable if it says not abjustablr then the computer does it
