Headlights quit

My 1992 Ranger with 175k miles, XLT Supercab, manual trans 2300 cc engine has a headlight problem.

I was driving it in the rain and was pulling back on the turn signal stalk, which activates both the high and low beams at the same time. The headlights stopped working at all, high and low beams. The 40 amp headlight fuse is ok.

Several months ago I had the headlight switch replaced, which fixed an intermittent headlight problem, and later replaced the multi-switch with a used one, which fixed a problem with the intermittent wipers coming on by themselves at the lowest speed.

Now I have no headlights so I can't drive in the dark.
No other lights problems except my turn signals blink a bit fast, for years. I don't see that as a problem, however.

What you describe is the multifunction switch...the stalk you pulled on!
