My friend kicked the fuel cut off switch in my 99 ford ranger and when I hit the little button and start up whenever I turn the front end shakes alot and the power steering pump whines alot and after a while the shaking stops and the power steering pump doesnt whine and everything is fine

this only happens when the fuel cut off switch is either unplugged or set off and it always goes away after a while

does anyone know why this happens?

Hello: Boy thats weird for sure. Power steering whine is usually caused by fluid level on the low side and would possibly cause steering shake especially while turning. The inertia switch is a safety device that that when in a wreck turns off the fuel pump so it does not keep running and spew fuel all over the place. I have not the slightest idea how the two problems are related, probably just a coincidence.
Good luck
Darryl.
