So for the last week or so my transmission has been making a grinding sound when in first gear or reverse.
it only makes noise when I am below 10 mph. Along with the noise there is a "jolting" motion that the truck makes when it goes from 0 to 10mph. As of now.I can put it in second gear and get over 15mph and then shift into drive and it makes no sound. Or jolts. What is my problem? I have been told that it may be my flywheel needs to be replaced. Thank you!

On the rear drive shaft there is a joint in the front of it and the rear of it. Look for signs of rusty dust. If you wee rusty dust you need to replace your u joints
