My first start up in the morning can take me up to five minutes once the truck is running everything is fine I can start it up normally the rest of the day ive replaced fuel filter, plugs&wires no improvment I was wondering about the fuel pressure regulator if that could be the problem and if so where is it located?

The fuel pressure regulator is on the fuel rail. What you should do is check fuel pump pressure, drop off, and at the same time check the regulator. Here is a how to for checking them:

Let me know what you find.

That is because the pressure increased. Was there any evidence of fuel in the vacuum hose? As far as a gauge, most nationally recognized parts stores will lend them to you.

First, thanks for the positive feedback. It's appreciated. Second, I'm glad you got it fixed. I had a feeling that was the problem.

Take care of yourself and let us know if you have questions in the future.

Thanks again,

Joe
