2000 Ford Ranger Sputtering

Lately in the morning when going up hill the truck starts to sputter by later in the day it doesnt do it. This morning when starting the truck it turned off then started again pushed the gas a bit and it stayed on. Do you think its the fuel filter?

Change both your air and fuel filters. Cheap and need to be changed every 6000 miles
