1997 Ford Ranger No Power
Transmission problem
1997 Ford Ranger 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 157000 miles
While driving the Ranger during the heat of the summer I have been using the AC. The issue comes after about 30 minutes of using the AC, I loose power in the transmission. i.e. I can let the clutch out in any gear and the vehicle will not move nor will it stall. If I do not use the AC at all during the same time of day and driving conditions, the vehicle will work just fine. I was thinking it was the clutch but what would that have to do with the AC. Thanks for the assistance.

the a/c doesn't have anything to do with the clutch.
what is happening is your clutch is slipping/ wornout. like brakes , when cold they grab a bit. your clutch disk needs replaced and the pilot bearing should be done at the same time.
