Recently I rebuilt the transmission because vehicle would not go into reverse. I found several clutch plates that were bad and replace them all. I also purchased a kit and replaced all of the seals and gaskets. After cleaning the rebuilding and installation of the transmission the vehicle would still not engage into reverse. What could be the problem. should take the vehicle for a diagnostic on the transmission? I can't understand what I could have missed?

Hi there,

I would take it to a trans specialist, with out being able to view the trans first hand, there's no way i can do a definite diatonic check, they will be able to check the basics, hopefully it will be a minor problem, but get them to look at it first.

Thank you for your advice, I concur and will take it to a transmission shop for a diagnostic check.
