Do I need to take the engine manifold off in order to put the new oil pan gasket on and how do I get the oil pan off?

The exhaust needs removed from the manifold so you have the clearance to remove the pan. Also, you will need to unbolt the motor mounts and lift the engine for the pan to clear. As far as removal, it is a bolt on part.

Just a heads up. It isn't an easy job and can be frustrating. The oil pump pick-up will cause problems when removing the pan. You may want to remove it once the pan is down as far as you can get it.
