1996 Ford Probe Car starts, runs 4-8 seconds, quits

1996 Ford Probe 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 145000 miles
Car was recently repaired - new head, and fuel pump, fuel regulatior, etc.
Car started OK if coolant temp connector on head was removed, and then replaced after starting.
Fans worked OK, but car then overheated idling in driveway, after several short drives.
Filled water, let cool down, and tried to start car.
Car started fine, but ran for about 5 seconds and quit, as though the key was switched off.
New distributor (CMPS) was installed, but same problem.
Can oil pressure sensor cause this problem ?
