Engine Performance problem
1989 Ford Probe 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic
it runs in park reverse and nutral but it chokes and dies in drive i have the chilton on it and have done what it told me new fuel pump fuel filter air filter mass air flow and plugs what is left local mechanic clueless please help

Has the check engine light come on? Does the vehicle surge when you put it in drive like the clutch being popped on a standard?
