Transmission shifts from 1st to 2nd but not into 3rd
I have a 1966 mustang with a c4 auto transmission that I got from a salvage yard. It shifts into reverse and from first to second but not into third. Does anybody have an idea of what might be going on??

has to be fluid flow but start with a modulator

this may sound stupid but the trans you have is a 3 speed correct? c-4 came in both 2 and 3 speed

the trans is a c4.i looked in my ford book .it says ford had 5 automatics in the 1960's.it has the 11 bolt pan and says the c4 is a 3 speed.they list a 2 speed but say it is a fm2 with 14 bolt pan.thanks for the reply.tim
