This car recently starting giving problems starting. It might go 2-3 weeks without any issues, then it will either turn-over without firing, or start but run rough for a few seconds, then quit. If I use starter spray, it will start and run fine. There is no 'check engine' or other problems I have noticed, but I want to isolate the problem before I get stranded somewhere.

Ok let me say first don't use starter fluid as this is very hard on engines use carb or injection spray cleaner instead. If you would get some mass air flow cleaner and clean the mass air flow meter and see how it does. Also any performance mods? If so what kind.
