I need the procedure to replace the convertible top latch mechanism that attaches the top to the front windshield. The mechanism on the Drivers Side when locking the J-hook in place pops back up 1/2 inch. I guess it is worn or bent.

Hello and thanks for donating

You can buy the J-hook seperately and it just threads on. That would be much easier then replaceing the latch assembly. To replace the latch assembly you have to work from the top of the roof down. That means pealing back the fabric, not a fun job. And depending on the condition of the fabric it may not go back on right. Once the fabric is out of the way you will see the mounting screws that need removed.
