1998 mustang clutch squeak
Ford mustang, 1998, 84000 miles and 3.8 engine.
i have a squeak in my clutch..underneath the car at tranny where the cable is held by a matal bracket..when car is running and i apply some hand pressure to the bracket the squeak stops....also inside the car when running if you slightly press the clutch the squeak stops...the rubber piece that fits inside the bracket doesnt look straight on one side...i tried to tighten bolt but no luck...do i need to adjust something or does that bracket need replaced...i say bracket(not sure what it is called) that holds the clutch cable.1998 mustang 84000 miles..sounds like a hamster in a rusty wheel lol..and annoying. i sprayed wd 40 on it but it didnt help at all...i think the bracket is rubbing against metal inside the casing....but that is a wild guess..just what it sounds like...hope this is enough info.
