1996 Ford Mustang pinging noise

When taking off fast and holding down on gas steadily there is a small pinging noise. What is this and how to fix?

Sounds like pre-igntion. I would start by checking the spark plugs make sure they are gapped right and not too contaminated.

From there try a higher grade of fuel at the pump next time. Also is your vehicle distributed?
