1987 Mustang GT - Replaced Starter 3 Times Already

Keep in mind it also has a new battery and alternator. We have replaced the starter 3 times and the first time it started once then wouldn't start, the
second time it ran for two weeks, and the third time it ran for a few weeks then it just wouldnt start. My uncle thinks its the flywheel how do the the flywheel, starter and transmission work and could this really be the problem?
