1969 Ford Mustang V8 Front Wheel Drive 130000 miles

Two months ago my wife drove our 69 Mustang about eight miles and on the way back home the car died on her. Our fuel gage was broken, so she says that she may have ran the car our of fuel. Now that been said, we refuel the car and tried starting it but the car just cranks and does not start. This mustang has a V8 351 Cleveland Engine. How can I get this running again. Your help is most appreciated.

Ok if this car still has points then check the point gap and check for spark. If it has no spark then check the coil. If this is been updated to electronic ignition then what system was used? Get back to me with what you find. PM me if needed.
