Valve Cover Leak

1984 Ford LTD Wagon, 111,000 miles. 3.8 engine.

Is there an oil additive that will slow down oil leaks around the valve gaskets? I don't want to get the whole thing replaced for such a slow leak, but the oil smoke on the headers can be very distracting.

Not only distracting but dangerous if it starts on fire.

RE-torque the valve cover bolts. IF you need a spec let me know. When the motor is cold spray it down with brake clean to get the residue off.

You can add a product called lucas. You can switch the oil to 20W50 in addition.
