This has been happening since a recall of shock tower bearing plates, replaced 4 times. CV joints on left and right have been replaced now this vehicle is out of warranty? The final answer I got was we do not see a lot of awd cars? No bullletins or recalls, I worry about steering, or transmission this car has the cvt volvo transmission, I felt it once in the steering wheel and can feel it in the floor. This seems to happen only on straight accelleration, mostly at a light or stop sign so i.E. From a stop to quick accelleration, or a good transfer of force or torque. Not a brake concern all brake components are fine sound comes from middle of car? Can you please help @ dealerships said If I find the problem they will warranty the concern but I have a limited time left.

Well I hate to say it but has anyone checked the transfer case? Most modern ones are chain driven and only under acceloration they can make a clunk noise that you will chase around the car. The noise is the chain skipping on the gears. Most will think that it has a bad u-joint but they are all good. I would see a good trans shop and have them check it. Let me know what you find.

I agree with the posting of racefan966, if it's not a "U" or CV joint it has to be in the transfer case.
