My van has had problems starting and cuts off during periods when it has rained. The check engine light comes on etc. Within hours of the problem, it usually subsides and the car runs okay. I have been told that it may be that the PCM has gotten wet. I understand this problem is not uncommon. Do I need a new PCM. I have been told that PCMs are rather robust. Would letting the moisture clear and sealing the area be adequate?

Hi joyce howard, Welcome to 2carpros and TY for the donation.

The 1st thing you need to do here is find out what's causing the check engine light to come On by having the computer scanned for OBD2 code/s-You have a problem within the engine management system this is the starting point of diagnosis.
