I have a 2001 ford focus and I cant figure out why the oil pressure gets so high so fast. Even with full tank of oil. The gauge goes from the middle when the car is started to high in the read after only a half mile

The amount of oil, unless the sump is empty, has nothing to do with the oil pressure.

It could be a bad check valve in the oil pump or much easierr a bad oil pressure sending unit.

You may be driving on the wrong side of the road in a Yank vehicle, that could have an impact! Ha a small joke.
