Electrical problem
2003 Ford Focus 4 cyl Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 104, 00 miles

My son had to jump start my car and put the cable on the wrong post. Didn't realize it and went to start and there was sparks and the jump cable attachment melted. Put a new battery in it. Everything works except that the car won't start, no sounds at all. Can you give me an idea of what can be wrong? (Starter, celanoid, etc)

You blew a high amp maxi fuse. Look in the under hood fuse block and look at the big fuses, I bet one is blown, usually replacing the fuse will fix it. Hope this helps

Check and test all the fusible links and also do this check for power at the starter relay at terminal S not there backtrack it to the transmission range switch/NSS and ignition switch. Inspect all your fuses too.
