2003 Ford Focus Repair Question

2003 Ford Focus A/C only works with fan on #1
Air Conditioning problem
2003 Ford Focus 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 80,000 miles
The A/C in our Focus will only work if the fan is on the #1 setting (which does not blow much cool air into the car). If we put the fan on a higher speed the A/C light on the A/C dash switch goes out and it stops operating. I am assuming this is a fan switch related problem?

Probably is either the switch or the wiring, test like this.
