PASSENGER SIDE MIRROR

2002 Ford Focus

2002 Ford Focus 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I drive a 2002 Ford Focus SE. Someone side swiped my car in a parking lot but fortunately only damaged the mirror on the passenger side. I don't believe the mirror itself is damaged much but there is about a 1/4 inch gap at the top where the mirror usually sits flush. I only drive a few times a week since I'm on a college campus and I would have probably never noticed but it rained for about 3 days this week and the front passenger side floor was soaking wet. There was actually a puddle of water under the floor mat. I'm guessing that since the mirror got hit it broke some type of weather seal behind the mirror which caused the water to run in my car. Will I have to get the entire mirror assembly replaced? I'm attaching a picture of the good and bad side and as you can see the damage does not look severe. But I do not want to keep a plastic bag shoved in the crack so my car doesn't flood. Thanks in advance.
