2001 Ford Focus car idles high then sputters
Engine Performance problem
2001 Ford Focus 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 91000 miles
My 2001 Focus is possessed. It just started (again) revving really high on its own. It does this with the air on. Without the air on it will sputter and eventually will cut off.
The engine light did come on. This happened before and my local mechanic replaced the oxygen sensor. It has been fine for a couple of weeks but it is back now.
What could cause this?

If your car idles high, try cleaning your IAC valve, and get your IAC motor checked.
If it doesn't help, you may have to replace them.
