2001 Ford Focus 120, 00 miles

our car has been sitting in our garage all winter since I've been away at school. We now have a need for it. Obviously it won't start and really only needs to be jumped (I believe) so we can get it to a local macanic to have the oil changed. However we are unable to put the car into neutral to push the car out so we can jump it. The "stick" won't move no matter how hard we press the release button to put it into neutral. Any thoughts or suggestions?

But, did you turn the car on? (Doesn't mean the engine is running, but you do have to turn it to run to move the car out of park.)

Hi, The problem is that the car has to have power to be able to release the shifter lock. You will need to somehow charge the battery. Hope this helps!
