How to inspect rear brake shoes
Brakes problem
2000 Ford Focus 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 32000 miles
have a 2000 Focus SE. I want to check the rear brake shoes. The manual says
that 4 bolts have to come off in the back. In older cars I just took off the
large nut that held the bearing in place. Do I need to take off the 4 bolts in
the back to check the brake shoes?

there are bolts you have to remove to do so, there will be a star adjuster that will have to be backed off with a special tools to get the drum off if it feels locked on.
