Hi,

I posted a message concerning stating my ford festiva used to stall during idle, but now just does not start anymore. I got an answer from bluelightnin6 to check the spark and fuel pressure.

well, the spark is reaching the spark plugs but I was unable to check the fuel pressure because I was unable to locate the valve to connect the fuel pressure qauge. The Haynes manual shows that there is a little valve on the fuel rail, but my 1991 model does not seem to have the valve on the fuel rail. I suppose that the Haynes manual is showing a later model that does have the valve on the fuel rail. Where would I find this valve on my model? More to the point, how do I check the fuel pressure for a 1991 Ford Festiva? My donation is skimpy because this is a follow up question to the first question.

Some vehicles dont have the schrader valve to tap into to verify fuel pressure. Those vehicles you have to interrupt the fuel lin with an adapter. Try spraying a little carb cleaner or starting fluid into the intake and see if it runs, if it does then you know you are chasing a fuel problem
