Can't charge my gps

2000 Ford Falcon 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 196540 miles
Hi,
My question is that I tried to charge my GPS in cigratte lighter area where normally all the cars charge GPS while driving. My FORD falcon AU 2000 which I just 2 days back dont charge my GPS. Could you advice how can I charge it or what are the option.
