1999 Ford Falcon Error message on radio

1999 Ford Falcon 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 152000 miles
I have a Ford Falcon 1999. I intended to install a new CD, radio system, so I pulled the old radio system out and disconnected all wires. But after that, I found that I can not replace it because I could not plug the original wire in to the new system. Therefore, I put the old system back in. However, when I connected it again, it always show "ERR" on the small radio screen. I disconnected the battery for 1 hour, connected battery again but the radio still show "ERR". It did not give me any chance to input the CODE. Is there any thing wrong with the radio? the car computer system or the wire to radio? Please help.
