I tried to send this earlier but when I selected "Preview" everything went away. I hope my donation will pass to this question.

Ford
E350 cutaway
2002
124,470 miles
5.4 engine

This vehicle is well maintained with regular PM
Last complete tune up at 101,733 miles.

Problem: Truck stalls when coming to a sudden stop.
Sometimes lurches prior to stalling.

I took it to a local Ford truck dealer and they could not get it to do it. They later called and said "the fuel pump pressure is low but that may not fix the problem, that's all we can find".

Thier diagnostic report;
CK codes NO codes
Ran KOEA KOER NO codes
CK fuel pressure low montred PIDS fuel pressure bleeds off after turning key off.
Replaced fuel pump and filter.
Road test CK OK

I picked the truck up and it seemed to be fine. The next day it did it again, again and again every time I came to a fairly qiuick stop. What makes me leary after the fact is the disclaimer "but it may not fix the problem". I don't claim to be a repair tech by any means but if they found a problem with the fuel pressure it seems odd to follow up with "it may not fix the problem". I have 6 other Fords and never had reason to question thier service, until now.

The disclaimer makes me think they didn't have a clue and were guessing because they had to try something.

Sorry about the long story.

I hope thier diagnostics will help.

What do you think the problem may be?

Could be a slow reacting Idle Air Control Valve. If it still works then it might not set a code, even though it is slower to react than when new. Ive seen alot of failures of these valves.
