I have a 99 ford f250 superduty, 5.4liter, 145,000 miles, standard. Replaced the alternator now the battery wont hold a charge.

The internal voltage regulator could be bad. Sometimes even new parts are defective. Take it to a automotive store and have them check the altinator.
