1995 Ford 150 Pick up truck, 200,000 km. We lost until now five starters over the last 8 years. Something is causing our starters to become faulty. We checked our battery, which is fine. Our car maintenance is always our priority. What are the potential problems? Thank you.

Have you checked the battery to starter wires for damage? And all your wires going off of the starter?

RE: Ford F150 Engine 351 8cylinder
We have checked all wiring by prefessional mechanics. No faulty wiring was found. Out of 5 starters we replaced only one was rebuild.

Could be that ur holding key to long when u crank the starter. Should not be more than 1 second before start. If its taking longer 2-3-4 seconds ur problem lies elsewhere. Therefore excess grinding of ur starter causing it to fail prematurely.
