Start up and low idle

F150 with 5.4L 2001
can only start truck in MORNING by giving it a little gas and maintain above 600 rpm or will stall.
It will stall at stops for a small period of time then
starts up fine and does Not stall at stops at all.
I've replaced the pcv because of the loud rattling
it was making. I was told the problem was the
idle air contrl motor. This is the ONLY problem
i have with the truck, no other signs other any thing being wrong. Will this cause me any problem at highway speeds or fuel consumption?
Thank you very much for the help.

no it will not affect highway driving or fuel economy when driving.

i think you may have a bad coolant temp sensor.
