2005 Ford F150 P0420 code reading
2005 Ford F150 V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 425000 miles
My 2005 F-150 has 425,000 miles and this problem just started with my exhaust. P0420 is the code I get from the check engine light. I replaced the cat on bank 1 with a aftermarket one that has the censor in the cat. I have also changed the 02 censor front and rear on bank 1. It must be getting alot of heat because of the noise it makes after I turn off the engine. The truck runs great and all the guages check out right. I listened to each fuel injector and they all make a clicking noise. My fuel economy is the same as day 1. What could give me that code with the hot metal noise after engine is off? All the normal things stay maintained, fuel filter,spark plugs, etc.
