2002 Ford F150 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 120560 miles
2002 f150 120000, just started today, pinging /knocking during load, without transmission in gear no ping. pings in all gears, i get regular oil changes and use 87 octane. what is the problem

Engine could be overheating, an EGR valve that's not opening and a knock sensor not retarding the timing

i talked to ford dealer. what about possible spark knock.

Spark knock/detonation/pinging its the same thing other than preignition
