Hi all,

I have a Ford F-150 that I have had a bit of difficulty starting lately! Battery is reading 12 volts but truck won't start. But I can boost it and it starts! A friend has suggested that it might be a bad ground. How would I go about testing his theory? Are there other possible scenarios?

Load test the battery if okay- clean and properly tightened both ends of the battery cables.

I've had the same problem before and it was the battery cables themselves. They looked fine until I cut into one halfway down and it was green corrosion on both hot and ground. Replaced them and had no more problems.

A little corrosive in the cables will mess up everything.
