2000 Ford F-150 oil pump

When I first start up my truck in the morning, the oil pressure gauge will first move to its normal position. Then after about 5 seconds, the pressure drops for a couple of seconds, then the pressure returns to normal. The pressure goes up and down for about 20 seconds, then it starts working normally. Is my oil pump starting to fail?

Hi sorry. Yes your pump could be weak. I would test with a manual guage if ok replace the oil sending unit, good luck billymac
