1997 Ford F-150 O D light flashing Code PO500

Have changed both speed sensors(transmissions and rear end) and speedometer head. The speedometer needle waves 2-3 MPH sometimes more. The O D light seems to flash around 40 - 55 MPH

The PO500 is for the VSS. Is the trans shifting normally?

I have replaced the VSS and the ABS/speed sensor, also replaced the speedometer head. The speedometer needle seems to react very slow and waves back anf forth, The transmission is shifting good. (1997 ford f150 4.2 liter 4x4 with a 4r70w transmission) I replaced the gear on the VSS, with a new one, when I pulled the VSS out again and look at the gear, look like something was eating the gear up.

It must be the gear inside that is causing the problem.
