1993 Ford F150

my abs and brake lite come on every time i drive it but if i shut it off and start it back up it goes off for a little while, and ive noticed the rear brakes are hanging up to the point of overheating and smoking. wheal cylinder is good, auto adjuster moves freely. what could be causing this to happen?
