Hello, I have a 1993 f150 4x4 with a new 302 ford racing engine, 5 speed trans. I have put a computer chip in it. The problem is that the truck has no power now, it will hardly pull itself. The more money I throw into this truck the worse it runs. Any ideas? IF I have to put a fuel pump in it can I put an external electric pump in it for both pumps?

Thanks Joe

The external pump is to boost the pressure of the in tank pumps. It isn't needed unless you are running and aftermarket fuel pressure regulator. The tank pumps are rated to deliver, I believe, 150% of the fuel needed by the engine at full power.

What rpm does your motor develope full power? A motor designed to develope full hp at high rpms will work against your truck transmission with high gearing and rear end with high gearing. Your truck is designed for work, low end grunt, your engine is designed for racing. They work against each other and you end up with a dog that won't go anywhere.

Let us know the charactaristics of your motor. Is everything stock except for the motor? Are you running stock intake, exhaust and ignition. The stock intake and exhaust alone will delete the advantage of a high performance long block, and may even lower the overall power to less than a stock motor.

Let us know.
