Greetings all, I'm currently working on my friends 97 Ford Explorer V6 Australian delivered model. The engine has been getting hot and there is a heck of a lot of engine oil in coolant, yet it's running on all 6 cyls. I have checked external causes such as engine oil cooler etc but ended up taking engine out and removing cylinder heads. Result on heads was that they are fine, the gaskets are fine and now I suspect block. Can you tell me if there is anything else I may have overlooked before I right the project off due to funding.
Regards. DOC

There certainly could be a cracked block but first find out if the owner has used a radiator stop leak product? Those products are petroleum based and will float on water and end up in the coolant resivoir and with enough use could be cloging the radiator which would cause overheating
