Check engine light on Ford Explorer
My wife drives a 4x4 1999 Ford Explorer with over
100,000 thous. miles. The check engine light
just came on and the engine runs rough and
has a bad smell when she turns the truck off.
Any suggestions to what it may be? I am taking
it in Thurs but don't want to be taken for a ride!

Can be one or a number of problems.
You need to have the Vehicle Scanned for Trouble Codes first. That will give you more info prior to repair. Many Auto Parts Stores will Scan it (usually for Free) AutoZone, O'Rielly's, etc.
Could be Ignition, Fuel, Injector/s, plug/s, etc.
The smell could be Fuel or Catalytic Converter Related
