My mechaninc told me to put in Dexcool mixed with water (hald/half) inot my '06 explorer. I looked up Dexcool, having never heard of it, and saw that mixing this stuff with other coolants could be a problem.

Which anitfreeze do I use? How do I know what my car had in it already? And How do you put it in?

Thanks for your help.

The coolant will be yellow in color if you have the correct type. Ensure that the coolant already in the vehicle is also yellow. The best for your vehicle is Motorcraft Premium Gold Engine Coolant VC-7-A (VC-7-B if in California, Oregon or New Mexico)
